that sheer parchment of emotion

take a listen to those thoughts, you stored

bitter as the day that they burst out of your brain
inked, splattered all over the pages
seeped inside the binding, through the chapters the ages
theres still, so long, to go
who'd know, if the time would pass at all
if the rivers could keep running
if the corals got to grow
stroll afloat, breathe on the coast
shake hands with those they love the most-est
in the most ways, that the soul aches
whoever is next to you, might just know what you're going through
another day, another dollar
to say sorry, after hours
for the issues all the problems
plaguing mind and plaguing body
take the lies, throw them high
splattered all across the sky
clouds of smoke pluming together like the Fourth of July
its almost animal, how easy it is,
to wander from your principles
and wallow in sin
you can try to recognize,
whats behind the way those eyes glow
though youre never gonna find a thing to fill whats left behind, no
theres a crater in your lungs, that pokes through to the heart and when you breathe in negativity it tears you apart

i wanna shiver at the slivers of the sunlight
that hit my eyes in a rhythm that feels just right
kaleidoscopic cracks in the concrete, visions of a bishop marching along to a drum beat
it's vicious to assume, that superstition will resume
to spout out of your gullied eyes, and onto the butterflies
you don't know what you do, and you don't know what you dont,
so just give up the parade, take your float on home
you don't know whether to be another clap inside the beat
another feather in the cap of a slender fella in your sheets
another leaf among the breeze a shade of yellow on the beach
a dandelion petal flying away, up high in the heat
of the sky, as it rises you might realize this
and take it all back you'll take it all back
pin a needle on the facts
dont take it slow, don't go too fast
don't hesitate to burn or crash
just keep recycling those ashes until
you know that you're ready to go
